Just a Touch of Terror19/6/2019 I have been able to experiment further into Lightroom and grasp a better understanding of the software that we are learning. I have chosen to continue with my three-eyed humanoid series and have begun developing a narrative which translates the co-existence of these creatures and humans. Last week's Gel Lighting sessions were really interesting and allowed me to capture some really well illuminated shots. I have always preferred cool photographs over warm ones. This edit is my favourite so far. After editing this horrifying image of Sam, I decided to create the image into a mock up poster for a faux horror film; Wednesday's at Wilhelm's. I have spoken to a close friend of mine in regards to photographing him and his Porsche for this project. The photography would be an advertisement for a faux car company for the creatures.

Burial's Edge12/6/2019 One of the ideas I mentioned in my blog last week was the beginning of an Alternate Reality Game. This idea has progressed into pre-production with early development into the production stage. The series now has a name, which will be called “Burial’s Edge” (subject to change). I originally chose the name “Third Eye Blind” which is the name of the band. Although the name sounds great, I changed it for conflicting reasons – one of which being it is the name of a band. The collective will consist of multimedia pieces such as an array of portrait photography, mixed-media landscape photography, a short graphic novel, advertising for multiple cohesive marketing materials. Through intermediate experimentation during the previous photography studio sessions, I have been able to take the photos and edit them to match the intergalactic theme that I am going for. I used a photograph that I had taken of Adam last week and edited the photo to give him a third eye in the centre of his forehead. These edited photos can be used as world-building devices within the fictional universe that I want to portray. An extra-terrestrial clothing brand that specializes in 3-eyed Shifters. The typographical logo that I created above is an idea of what I would like to achieve. It gives a dark, mysterious, yet dangerous vibe. This will most likely be changed in future depending on the direction I decide to take. I continued to edit some more photos and this is what I have progressed with: For this project I would like to effectively give an alternative perspective on the unusual lifestyle of these ‘creatures’ that have come from above. In the coming weeks, I will begin to develop storyboards and a story that ties the portrait shots all together in a 12-page graphic novel.

Welcome Reality3/6/2019 Over the past week I have been taking a closer look into photography and image manipulation through online research conducted in and out of class. The one visual artist that really stood out to me was Victoria Siemer (who goes by Witchoria online). Most of her photography is heavily edited where reality has been manipulated, sometimes to the point of obscurity. The idea of a mixed reality has always appealed to me and Witchoria perfectly blends reality and abnormality to a point that is to be desired. Social issues and topics have been a popular subject matter in recent years. Siemer has provided commentary on issues such as the #MeToo Movement, the most recent Presidential Election, consent, relationships and loss. During the forthcoming trimester, I would like to adapt some of her aesthetic decisions and refine my own art-style. My ideas consist of having a recurring character or theme throughout all of my art pieces. I have begun early development into my goals for this trimester. These include, but certainly are not limited to;
In order to maintain a cohesive ARG, I plan to develop a body of work that is different on the surface, whilst relaying an underlying theme, message, or character throughout. I have started early development of a character that I intend on using within my body of work. This will be used to break my photographs away from the norm as, in the words of Thanos; “Reality is often disappointing.” (Russo & Russo, 2018) References:
